Victoria Park comes in to this race in excellent heart and gets the vote ahead of Minirina, The Gambler and Somethingabouther. The David Nicholls-trained filly had shown a respectable level of form in maidens before making a winning handicap debut over this trip at Carlisle on Monday. The daughter of Victory Note appeared to win with something in hand and, with further improvement expected, she can defy a 6lb penalty. Minirina has been knocking on the door of late but this represents a step up in grade and this exposed maiden looks worth opposing. The Gambler has solid claims if reproducing the form of his second in similar grade over the course and distance last time while Somethingabouther was a fine second on her handicap debut at Brighton last time and is just 1lb higher so merits consideration.
