This is a moderate rating-related maiden and what can only be a tentative vote goes to BERTIE VISTA, who has shown improved form since being stepped up to seven furlongs on fast ground in his last two starts, and he gets the verdict ahead of Eternal Optimist and Royal Sovereign. The last mentioned disappointed at Folkestone last time but has claims on previous form at Brighton and has to be respected on that evidence. Tump Mac is less exposed than most after just four starts but does need to improve to trouble the judge as does Salerosa, who has a similar profile. Morocchius has been well held in handicaps of late but takes a drop in class today, while March Mate has not progressed from a couple of promising runs in June and now looks best watched. Paul Green's Eternal Optimist may do better now dropped back in trip but in a poor race it is Bertie Vista who gets the verdict.
