In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest gets proceedings under way in which many would have chances on there best form but the TEAMtalk selection is Mister Chisum. The gelding from the Robin Bastiman yard has been in fair form of late under similar conditions and his latest second behind Time Marches On at Kelso gives him every chance and this sharper track should suit. Ceresfield rates the main danger despite top weight he has only had one run in this country when eighth in a class D handicap at Wetherby won by Mister McGoldrick a reproduction of that form would see him go close in this moderate affair. Wrangle is also worthy of consideration he to has been running in better races of late and a reproduction of his fourth behind Edipo Re at Huntingdon a couple of runs ago in a handicap represents the best latest form on offer but he has disappointed twice since. Joey The Schnoze was a well backed favourite in a maiden hurdle at Wetherby last time out but he raced to keenly for his own good and he will need to settle better if he is to take a hand in the finish. Strait Talking is a seven furlong winner on there flat but he has shaped like a non-stayer so far over hurdles. Of the others Mon Performer is from a yard beginning to hit top form and he could go well at a fair price off what looks a lenient mark.
