      Verdict

      This is not the strongest of maidens with mainly disappointing types involved. Mark Johnston's Night Shift Blue's will be happier on this fast ground, having failed to take to the sand but, he may have to play second fiddle to Provender, who hails from a yard just beginning to get into full swing. He is entitled to come on from his seasonal reappearance and may have more improvement in him than the Johnston gelding.
