      Verdict

      CAT O'NINE TAILS showed her best form of the season so far when just failing to catch Jewelled Dagger over a slightly shorter trip at Ayr last week. Mark Johnston's filly can race off the same mark here and looks capable of adding to last year's three victories. Union Island has a poor strike rate but has claims on his third at Hamilton last month, while Descaro has done all his winning over longer trips and it was a marathon 2m2f that Dark Ranger won over at York in May. Dubara Reef won five times last year but remains in need of some respite from the handicapper.
