DARK SPIRIT had no luck in-running when hampered by the eventual winner in the closing stages at Beverley last week. She still finished runner-up with Fimias and Diamond City behind and can go one better over this longer trip. Valantino Oyster won a similar event at Ripon in June with Drop The Hammer behind and Frameit scored earlier this year on the Polytrack. Both carry a penalty for those victories and a bigger threat could come from last summer's Pontefract maiden winner Rhyton having only his fourth start on the Flat.
