Verdict

ZAFAR beat a subsequent winner at Uttoxeter and was staying on in the closing stages when just failing to overhaul First Street over an extended 2m3f under a penalty at Bangor when Fairlawn Flyer was well beaten. With Abbie McCain taking off 5lb again, he might be some value against likely favourite Bardenstown Lad, the winner of a maiden over 3m at Wexford on his hurdles bow and open to plenty of improvement.
