Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

This should be a splendid spectacle around the quirky Lake District track with the vote settling upon Malcolm Jefferson's KING FONTAINE. He'll have no stamina concerns and has enjoyed a sufficient break since finishing runner-up to Lackamon at Sedgefield last time over this trip. His previous Haydock performance when hunting up Monsieur Cadou represented an even better effort and a strong run is anticipated. Gullible Gordon finished upsides King Fontaine at Sedgefield and therefore makes the shortlist but he does lack the consistency of the selection. Sea Saffron, a course and distance winner, unquestionably merits respect, whilst Jaunty Journey and Neptune Equester also warrant a mention.
