In depth

Verdict

Applesandpierres has switched stables and is visored on his first run for Sophie Leech having failed to land the odds in a seller at Hexham last time. Character Onesie has to go on the short-list after a second at Southwell but is still seeking a first victory over timber and Brian Hughes prefers stable companion Inniscastle Lad, another maiden. CAPTAIN BROWN was behind stablemate Golden Town at Hexham last time but that will have blown away any cobwebs ahead of a return to his favourite track. Jimmy Moffatt’s 10-year-old was only beaten a neck off a 2lb higher mark here last June and has already won twice on the course. Always Resolute has been running poorly but has plummeted down the weights so is worth a market check.
