In depth

Verdict

CAPTAIN MORGS is a talented but quirky customer - so Cartmel could well prove just up his street. He really should have won more than just a couple of his hurdling starts, including recently when getting into difficulties before coming home with a wet sail to finish runner-up at Aintree. Let's give him another chance on this chasing debut despite conceding considerable weight all round. He's not one for the mortgage though by any means. Rapid Flight stuck on gamely to score over course and distance for the Moffatt team on Saturday and is dangerous in receipt of over a stone. Consistent Bob's Bar is similarly treated and can contend for McCain and Hughes.

Bob's Bar (IRE) 15-8 (11-11) Held up in rear, took closer order 5th, joined leader 7th, clear lead 3 out and soon ridden, headed 2 out, rallied late on to almost join leader, just failed, 2nd of 3, 3/4l behind Spark Of Madness (10-12) at Perth 2m hcp (4) gs in May.

Rapid Flight 9-2 (11-10) Chased leaders, ridden and pressed leader after last, led narrowly home turn, stayed on well, always doing enough, won at Cartmel 2m 5f hcp (4) gd in May beating Mah Mate Bob (10-6) by 1/2l, 10 ran.
