The performance of Milbanke earlier on the card will give a helpful pointer to the chance of Grifter. The Fahey gelding was only beaten a length when the pair met at Redcar and looks capable of landing a nursery this term. Matty Too was off the mark at Hamilton and should not be troubled by this additional furlong. Makalu also came good on his fourth start for his talented apprentice at Thirsk but, in a tight race, MACKENZIE ROSE is the choice. She's coming along steadily and a third last time came in what looked a fairly decent Kempton novice stakes. She may have got in here on a fair mark for her nursery bow.
