Verdict
Lucky Dan was a cosy enough winner last time out but with extra weight to carry and the conditions not obviously in his favour we instead prefer EXCEED ELEGANCE to take this while Cheyenne Red also makes it onto the shortlist. With his best performance to date coming over this trip in similar conditions the selection should be able to go a couple better than when narrowly missing out off this mark last time. Lucky Dan was over two lengths too good for a similar quality field last time when dropping back to a sprint trip. While he may cope with his three pound mark rise he is unproven on softer ground and is yet to win over the minimum trip. Cheyenne Red should be seen in a better light with four pounds removed from his back after an average handicap debut on his last start. Scrapper Smith shouldn't be ignored racing off a career low rating but with more things in his favour or not Exceed Elegence should exceed these.
