Glendening is best in here at the weights compared to official ratings and we take the Dandy Nicholls-trained gelding to be too good for Drum Dance, Alpaga Le Jomage and Dancing Deano. The selection is still a maiden after 10 starts and has largely been kept to this level, where he has run a few decent races in defeat. He handles the trip and ground and provided he acts on the track he looks good enough. Drum Dance acts on any ground, is not in bad form, and relishes this distance so should be on the premises. Alpaga Le Jomage carries top weight and handles conditions well. The trip will also suit but he has a few pounds to find strictly on the book so is opposed. Of the others, Dancing Deano is back in selling company for only the second time and has been involved in some more competitive handicaps. Trip and ground suit and with a useful 7lb claim to come off he should go close, but we prefer Glendening to go in from stall 1.
