In depth

Verdict

Storymaker can bounce back to form with Ever Present and Go West put up as alternatives. Sally Forster's charge needs bottomless ground to be at his best so he can be forgiven a couple of below par runs on slightly faster surfaces. Time may suggest that he ran up against something ahead of the handicapper at Wetherby and with decent horses behind, we are happy to offer him as a confident selection. Ever Present has only just returned from a long absence. Two recent sighters should mean that he will be match fit today and he is racing off a mark that is significantly lower than that over the larger obstacles. Jonty's Lass has ran well here in the past and could be tempting at longer odds. Player has a bit to prove on balance. This race will prove to be a testing one for its participants and we believe that Storymaker is best suited to the task.
