Cordilla has solid claims and should be able to account for Sono and For Your Ears Only in the final race on the card. Nicky Richards has his team in good shape and the locals will be confident that Cordilla can send them home happy after his impressive win at Ayr on Boxing Day. The son of Accordion, having only his fourth career outing, came storming through to beat No Picnic and Riothamus, and has more to give. Not badly treated for his handicap debut, and with Tony Dobbin on board, Cordilla looks the one to beat. Maiden For Your Ears Only pulled too hard when third at Newcastle and has to improve to beat the selection, and Sono has to concede four pounds, which is a tough assignment. Of the rest, Jallastep makes some appeal based on his form of last year that included wins at Ayr and Kelso. In mid-division behind the useful Chivalry on a return to the latter track in January, he may be involved for a place, but the one that they all have to beat is Cordilla.
