Kalahari Prince can be expected to go close if turning up just three days after hunting up Shine On Brendan in what looked a slightly better race at Musselburgh. He continues to steadily descend the handicap and this does look a decent opportunity, but his 1-16 career record tempers enthusiasm a little. It's a similar type of story with Dark Company, yet to score in 16 runs on the grass but only beaten in a desperate finish at Beverley recently. He's also been moving down the weights and is potentially well treated. The overall profile of Chinese Spirit brings the course and distance winner into calculations too, but a chance is taken with STAR OF ST JAMES. Far from consistent, he'll be well suited to the uphill finish and suggested last time that he may be ready to strike.
