MELESINA has been competing in pattern company and her six-length defeat in the Albany at last month’s Royal Ascot is the best form on offer. Richard Fahey’s filly should have the measure of these. Miss Sheridan looks next best on her second at Pontefract given the remainder with experience have shown precious little so far, including Bongrace and Laureate. Davinci Dawn and Dreamorchid are both entered in valuable sales races and preferred to Our Lois of the newcomers.
Bongrace (IRE) 33-1 (9-0) Tracked leaders, hung right over 2f out, weakened over 1f out, 4th of 7, 9 1/2l behind Montataire (9-5) at Hamilton 6f mdn stks (5) gd in Jun.
Davinci Dawn Poet's Voice filly out of Bonnie Brae.
Dreamorchid (IRE) Dream Ahead filly out of Dark Orchid.
Laureate 14-1 (9-0) Chased leaders, weakened over 1f out, 6th of 8, 15l behind Asidious Alexander (9-0) at Doncaster 6f fll stks (5) gs in Jun.
Lil's Affair (IRE) 12-1 (9-0) In touch, weakened over 1f out, 11th of 13, 10 1/4l behind Cheval Blanche (9-0) at Redcar 6f fll stks (5) gf in May.
Melesina (IRE) 100-1 (9-0) Raced keenly, in mid-division, some late moderate headway, never a threat, 8th of 16, 6 1/4l behind Brave Anna (9-0) at Ascot 6f Grp 3 fll stks (1) gs in Jun.
Miss Sheridan (IRE) 22-1 (9-0) Pressed winner, pushed along over 2f out, lost 2nd over 1f out, rallied into 2nd again towards finish, 2nd of 8, 2l behind Fancy Day (9-0) at Pontefract 6f fll stks (5) gf in Jun.
