Snap is one to whom any ground conditions seem to come the same and he can make the most of his versatility to land this from Fonthill Road, Hartshead and Time N Time Again. The selection has begun his career on the racecourse well, with two wins from four starts and so far never out of the first three. He seems to handle both six and seven furlongs equally as well, so this drop back in trip should not inconvenience him. He is a typical Mark Johnston-trained colt, with the heart of a lion and he can outbattle them to record a third success. Fonthill Road will appreciate the bit of cut in the ground and would welcome more rain, having scored on both heavy and good to soft so far, the latter being on his most recent run over six furlongs at Hamilton. Richard Fahey has managed to find improvement in the gelding, who runs consistently, but he may just have his work cut out to land this at the weights. Hartshead found a bit of form to win an ordinary maiden at Redcar last time out and looks likely to appreciate easier conditions than when sixth here last month. Nevertheless he also has a bit to find with the winner and the best he can hope for looks to be a place, while the same can be said of Time N Time Again, who has gone up after a couple of recent outings where he has just failed to win, and that should not makes things any easier this time. The selection here then is Snap.
