POPPANAN is the call in this contest with Lastkingofscotland and Magical Speedfit respected as dangers. Simon Dow's gelding won well at Windsor recently and as that was an apprentices race he does not pick up a penalty for those labours. The same rider will able to claim 7lb off against the professionals. Lastkingofscotland was beaten in a plating event at Chepstow on Tuesday so it remains to be seen as to whether he shows up at Brighton on Thursday. He has obvious claims here if running to the top of his form. Magical Speedfit is a quirky customer. He still looks harshly handicapped though has reserved his best for this course in the past. Divine Force has been in good nick during the winter on the all-weather but has gone up the weights as a consequence. Highland Harvest returns back after a near four month hiatus. A race that will not take much in the way of winning and Poppanan is the pick.
