In depth

Verdict

At first glance this race looked impossible to fathom, however Convivial Spirit does hold solid claims and can come home ahead of Lady Edge and Prince Valentine. Ed Vaughn's three-year-old had a decent winter with victories at Wolverhampton and Lingfield off higher marks. Since then he hasn't been too consistent but has put in the odd decent run. He had little luck in running last time out and he is worth taking a chance with today over this slightly longer trip. Lady Edge is a similar type, never running two races alike. However she does have decent course and distance form and has dropped to very tempting mark. Prince Valentine on the other hand is a model of consistency and also runs this track well. He should be capable of picking up some more place money. Magic Warrior and Pelham Crescent are two other in with a squeak, but if on a going day, Convivial Spirit could land the spoils.
