DUKE OF NORTH won at this venue last season and got his head back in front at Lingfield recently. He should make another bold bid in this. Black Caesar has won twice here in the past and scored a Lingfield at the start of the year. He can figure along with Jersey Breeze, who drops down in class for this. Essaka also goes well here and is back on the same mark as when winning over 6f at the track in October but Bingo George has yet to show any improvement for a tumble down the handicap.
Jersey Breeze (IRE) 7-1 (8-10) Held up, ridden over 2f out, never a factor, 6th of 7, 6 1/4l behind Black Bess (9-7) at Lingfield 7f hcp (4) gd in May.
Black Caesar (IRE) 5-2 (9-3) Dwelt, raced wide, soon tracked winner, ridden and unable to quicken over 1f out, lost 2nd inside final furlong, 3rd of 5, 3 3/4l behind In Ken's Memory (8-13) at Brighton 7f hcp (5) gd in May.
Duke Of North (IRE) 7-2 (9-7) Held up, ridden 2f out, headway entering final furlong, led inside final furlong, ran on, won at Lingfield 7f hcp (4) gs in May beating Golden Wedding (10-7) by 1 3/4l, 7 ran.
Soaring Spirits (IRE) 4-1 (9-8) Took keen hold, held up in rear, pushed along on wide outside and struggling halfway, never a factor, last of 7, 19 1/4l behind One Big Surprise (9-7) at Brighton 6f hcp (5) gf in Apr.
Perfect Pastime 16-1 (9-0) Started slowly, outpaced in rear, never on terms, 7th of 8, 10 1/2l behind Mad Endeavour (9-7) at Lingfield 6f hcp (6) pol in May.
