      Verdict

In a competitive handicap, it may just pay to keep faith with the consistent Tuscarora; Mr Bountiful, A One and Mutabassir are the main dangers. A winner on the Polytrack at Lingfield last month, Tuscarora has been unlucky on returning to turf, twice going down by just a short head at Bath. She is sure to go up in the weights for her latest effort, behind Adobe earlier in the week, shapes as though this distance will suit her, and is worth persevering with here. Mr Bountiful is an obvious one for the shortlist, having been sent down from Michael Dods' yard and with the booking of Richard Hughes clearly catching the attention. He was never nearer than at the finish when third over an extended seven furlongs at Musselburgh last time and remains on a reasonable mark. Mutabassir returned to form when a close second here last time, with a long way back to the remainder. He loves this track and cannot be ruled out. A One shaped reasonably well when a remote third at Nottingham on his reappearance. He should come on for that run and would have serious claims if the ground came up really soft.
