Verdict

At 1lb below his last winning mark and after a decent run in defeat last time FIREHAWK could be ready to win again. Held just over two lengths in defeat behind a subsequent winner on that last run the David Evans gelding sent out a statement of intent and it looks wise to take heed. Carnac ran well from this rating last time but it's not clear if this step down in trip is a good move and Court Wing can be considered on his near miss when last seen. Quince has shown a liking for this track but might need a further reprieve from the assessor before scoring so Firehawk can go in.
