With the all-important course form in the bank after scoring here last time out OCEAN COUNTESS is given a chance to follow up at the expense of fellow last time out success story Kings Masque and the consistent Jewelled Reef. The selection wasn't stopping when driven out to that comfortable victory last time, hinting that both this slight step up in trip and the extra four pounds added to her back won't stop her going close. Her best so far has come on quick ground but her bloodline points to an aptitude for softer and she is one of the few in this race that comes here in form. Kings Masque finally got off the mark on his last start but that was in a claimer and despite beating a subsequent handicap winner that day he has a bit to prove in this company. Jewelled Reef is on a bit of form but keeps finding a couple too good in recent starts. She may need a reprieve from the assessor before scoring again and the ground also looks against her. Eye For The Girls showed a spark of form last time and if building on that should be in the mix but Ocean Countess seems to have most in her favour and can follow up.
