Oligarch, Piran and Maxamillion are three against the field in this maiden and the confident vote goes to Oligarch. The selection was sent off at odds on on his debut when third behind Red Admiral weakening only inside the final furlong. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and given nominal improvement he will be hard to beat especially as this shorter trip is sure to suit. Piran rates the main danger on his latest fifth behind Speightstown as he will also be suited by the drop in trip but his best form is on faster ground and for that reason he is opposed. Maxamillion is also worthy of respect on his latest fifth behind Karlu at Chepstow but he gave the impression he would be seen to better effect over a longer trip and he may be best watched when switched to handicaps. Of the remainder finished in mid-division in a better race than this at York and with the drop in grade sure to suit it would be no surprise if he ran into a place. Brego is from a shrewd yard and is obviously thought capable of better but for the winner we return to Oligarch.
