In depth

Verdict

Scuzme can take a modest contest, while Prince Valentine and Count The Trees are others with solid claims in a weak race like this. Count The Trees is still a maiden after 11 previous attempts, so obviously has her limits. However, the very best of her All Weather form brings her right into the argument and it will not be surprising to see the Bill Turner-trained filly go close tonight. Prince Valentine is another that has yet to experience a win on the racecourse and has been frustrating to follow. However, he has plummeted to a very reasonable mark and, as he should cope with the ground, he has another sound chance of picking up some place money for his connections. However, Scuzme has more scope for improvement and, having shown a good attitude to justify favouritism in a Hamilton seller last month, he at least knows what it takes to knuckle down when it really matters. Andy Elliot's 5lb claim does him no harm at this level.
