Verdict
Mutabassir appears to like this specialist track and is given the nod ahead of Sir Francis and Swynford Welcome. Andrew Reid's charge has been called a few names in the past but he certainly ran a decent race in finished second to a stable mate at a meeting at the track in May. The gelding then went on to prove that this was no fluke with a fair fourth in a decent claimer at Lingfield Park. Lingfield park regular, Sir Francis did manage to break his maiden here as a juvenile so there should be few concerns about his ability to handle the track. There are however slight reservations about his ability on a faster surface. Swynford Welcome seems to be perfectly at home on tracks with an odd figuration and it is no surprise to learn that his better form is at Brighton and indeed, at Epsom. He should like the faster surface but has been far from at his best this term. Frazzled is dropped in class after a recent run at Newmarket and is certainly of interest in the market off this particular handicap mark. Pagan Storm finished third here as a juvenile and was subsequently fourth in a Classified stakes at the track in May. He didn't look to possess the most willing of attitudes and may be one to avoid at present. Nick Littmoden's stable have begun to hit a vein of form of late and George Stubbs should go well for the Newmarket-based handler.
