In depth

Verdict

Portabello Road’s dam has produced winners with her first two foals to race and Luca Cumani’s two-year-old are always worth a second look here, though the son of Iffraaj has already been gelded and wears cheekpieces on his racecourse debut. RIVIERA NIGHTS wasn’t beaten far at Leicester and was then placed in what looked a decent maiden at Newmarket. This represents a drop in class and Richard Hannon’s colt should make it third-time lucky. Barbarosa will almost certainly improve on his introduction at Newbury and rates the danger.
