      Verdict

      MONKS STAND (NAP) was withdrawn at the last Brighton meeting but clearly all is well as he turns up here - and with excellent claims. He ran on well after a slow start on debut and eventually came home a respectable second to a Godolphin newcomer. He should improve for the run and the level of that form looks to better that of both Mr Scaramanga and Bonnie Arlene who have shown promise for leading juvenile yards. Indeed, the Hannon team also field Control Centre and although the Dragon Pulse colt looks the yard's second string on jockey bookings, he is the one to take note of in the market.
