Braemar’s frustrating run of seconds continued when narrowly beaten over today’s trip at Catterick and ALTRA VITA looks a better proposition. The latter won a lower grade contest at Bath on her return to action but this shorter trip should be no problem for Sir Mark Prescott’s unexposed filly. The remainder are harder to recommend though Pilgrim Soul may improve now handicapping for the first time and is preferred to Apache Blaze, who won over 1m2f at Nottingham back in April.

Apache Blaze 8-1 (8-11) Held up, ridden and headway over 1f out, no impression final furlong, 5th of 10, 11 3/4l behind Shuhood (9-1) at Newmarket 1m 2f hcp (4) gf in May.
Altra Vita 6-4fav (9-2) Tracked leaders, went 2nd 8f out, pushed along 4f out, ridden to lead and hung left inside final 2f, not doing much in front, driven out, won at Bath 1m 6f hcp (6) gd in Jun beating Acquirer (9-4) by 1l, 6 ran.
Sherzy Boy 13-2 (9-3) Mid-division, outpaced final 3f, last of 8, 8l behind Rustang (9-6) at Lingfield 1m 4f hcp (5) pol in May.
