Jockeyship could be even more important than form in a modest finale in which none of the riders are allowed to use their whips. Cam Hardie is stronger than most and his mount FOCAIL MEAR wasn't beaten far at Beverley last month or at Wolverhampton on Saturday - this may be her chance to shine. Crouching Harry was beaten more than a dozen lengths when second over course and distance in August while Soiree D'Ete has proved most disappointing. Salient would have a chance on his best form but this looks a bit further than ideal. General Tufto will be staying on at the death but often gets too far behind to trouble the leaders and hasn't won on Turf since 2010.
