Verdict
SPEED DATING was taken out of a Newcastle race on Wednesday to come here instead which says a lot about the yard's hopes for him, and we think he can win it, with the main dangers expected to be Rose of Coma and Primo Dilettante. Sir Mark Prescott's colt concedes weight all round, carrying a penalty for winning last time out at Carlisle, when he really needed cajoling along, to the extent that Seb Sanders got a two-day ban for excessive use of the ship. He's back aboard today, and his impressive strike rate on this unique course adds to the appeal. He's an improving sort, well-bred, and a step down in class eases the task given the weight he's carrying. Rose of Coma is regularly placed, including last time out here over this trip, but is one from 16 which doesn't particularly encourage us. The yard's much quieter too than it was a year ago. Primo Dilettante's one career win came over course and distance in May, and he's now a pound lighter than then after an indifferent spell. Fire King is a son of Falbrav, but his only win to date came on the Polytrack. Beaubrav is a half-brother, and first time headgear for him, Royal Arthur and Dannios could all bring improvement.
