KNIGHT MUSIC went close in this grade at Newmarket last month and should figure with a similar effort. He was well beaten in soft ground at Epsom before that but still finished ahead of Steppe Daughter. The latter also bounced back last time with a third at Windsor when finishing a long way in front of both Rydan and El Campeon but Astra Hall failed to cope with an 8lb rise at Lingfield having landed a double earlier. Echo Brava remains 6lb higher than his win at Epsom last year as he returns to action.
Echo Brava 22-1 (11-7) Chased leaders, outpaced before 3 out, rallied next, went right last, no impression run-in, 5th of 13, 23 1/2l behind Theo's Charm (11-7) at Plumpton 2m (4) sft in Dec.
Knight Music 12-1 (9-3) In touch, ridden and headway over 1f out, pressed winner inside final furlong, not quicken towards finish, 2nd of 9, 1/2l behind Indira (9-5) at Newmarket 1m 4f hcp (4) gf in May.
Rydan (IRE) 12-1 (9-7) Took keen hold, held up towards rear, headway on outside 2f out, ridden and weakened over 1f out, 8th of 12, 10 1/2l behind Baadi (9-6) at Windsor 1m 4f hcp (4) gd in May.
Steppe Daughter (IRE) 20-1 (9-1) Held up towards rear, headway towards outside 2f out, ridden and stayed on in 3rd inside final furlong, not pace to challenge, 3rd of 12, 1 1/4l behind Baadi (9-6) at Windsor 1m 4f hcp (4) gd in May.
Astra Hall 7-1 (9-3) Tracked leaders, ridden 3f out, effort entering final furlong, kept on one pace, 3rd of 9, 3 3/4l behind Saumur (8-13) at Lingfield 1m 3f hcp (4) gd in May.
El Campeon 25-1 (8-12) Steadied start, held up towards rear, headway on outside chasing leaders 2f out, soon ridden, weakened over 1f out, 10th of 12, 15 1/2l behind Baadi (9-6) at Windsor 1m 4f hcp (4) gd in May.
