Cracking Speed is still seeking a first victory but drops another 2lb since fourth at Salisbury and this won’t take much winning, though he does now have a bit to find with Under Curfew. BARRITUS is a lightly-raced four-year-old who was second over this trip at Lingfield in January. He wasn’t beaten far when making his handicap debut over 7f here last month and this looks a good opportunity to get off the mark as it’s difficult to make a case for Soaring Spirits and Noble Deed.
Barritus 4-1 (9-7) Took keen hold, tracked leader, switched left to challenge over 2f out, every chance when hung left under pressure approaching final furlong, kept on same pace closing stages, 3rd of 10, 3/4l behind Swissal (9-4) at Brighton 7f hcp (6) gf in May.
Soaring Spirits (IRE) 33-1 (9-0) Mi-division, weakened 2f out, 10th of 13, 6l behind Real Estate (9-7) at Windsor 6f hcp (5) gd in May.
