      Verdict

      Roy Rocket has won nine times around here, including from much higher marks, but was a long way behind ESSPEEGEE (NAP) here last time. The winner was having his fourth start on the track and remains unbeaten and, though raised 6lb, he won with enough in hand to continue his sequence. Kirtling, who was beaten six lengths into third, should get a bit closer without reversing the form but Contingency Fee was soon beaten after attempting to make all and has since been beaten a long way at Bath.
