We'll take a chance on Lancaster Lad despite him being one of the worse off in the field on official figures. Andy Haynes' gelding was winning for the first time at Bath six days ago when landing a selling handicap. He faces a tougher task on these terms but now that connections have worked out his trip and now that he's got his head in front he may be able to go on to further success. Straight Face is a leading player and ran well on his previous visit to the track a couple of years ago. Again, there are others better treated at the weights but he should go well. Fairly Honest may find this trip on the sharp side but the return to this distance and the reapplication of blinkers should see Split The Wind have a say in the outcome. Llab Nala hasn't been in great form of late but can't be ruled out and nor can Lord Deevert who is a pretty consistent performer at this level. Not an easy race to call but Lancaster Lad may be able to get the job done.
