    Verdict

Last Sovereign is penalised for his recent victory over C&D and the runner-up Select Committee, a previous winner of this contest, is weighted to reverse the form. So is third-placed Tabaret for that matter but Steelcut, Indian Trail and Nickel Silver were all well beaten and may struggle again. Red Cape has been in winning form in plating company but FEAR NOTHING has won a couple of handicaps over the minimum trip this month. Given his latest convincing win at Newcastle on Saturday, he looks capable of landing a hat-trick here despite a penalty and gets the vote.
