The assessor appears to have taken exception to Midnight Malibu's victory at Haydock as he's raised him 11lb so this looks tough. His stablemate Crombay came good when making all in a Thirsk maiden and looks the type to make further progress, a remark that also applies to Penwortham. Richard Fahey's colt had shown enough potential to be sent off favourite at Wolverhampton and he won with a bit in hand so he doesn't look overburdened for his handicap debut. However, ROSINA (NAP) looks even better treated as she made a successful debut at York then very nearly followed up in a nursery there before staying on strongly to land a Ripon handicap. Today's stiffer track is what she needs and victory number three looks on the cards.
