Verdict

Last year's winner was the only favourite to oblige in the last 10 renewals. MAAREK will deservedly start near the head of the betting given the Group 1 winner has been taking on higher rated sprinters than these back home in Ireland. A repeat of his earlier second to Mustajeeb at the Curragh would see him go close. Line Of Reason finished ahead of Willbeme when third last year but is penalised for a subsequent Listed win at Cork while Alben Star hasn't won on Turf since 2012. Iffranesia is still improving but the draw has not been kind as she attempts to confirm recent running at Tipperary with Cordial and Dikta Del Mar and Listed winner Katawi is another with a high draw to overcome. Ridge Ranger is on the upgrade though this is much tougher than the handicap he won at Goodwood last month so Doncaster conditions race winner Red Pike is preferred.
