This is an open contest but Circuit Dancer can come out on top, with Divine Spirit, Throw The Dice and Special Gold others to consider. Throw The Dice may have won only one race but has been shaping well recently and is well drawn here. He ran well at Pontefract last time, leading for a while and then battling back having been headed. He can handle cut in the ground and will enjoy this stiff five furlongs. Divine Spirit is a consistent type who has been slipping down the handicap. He ran well to be a close sixth in a competitive contest last time at Sandown and scored at catterick earlier in the summer of only a one pound lower mark and has been given a chance to return to winning ways here. Special Gold has crashed down the handicap after a winless run and Tim Easterby's runner has been hinting at a win of late, finishing a close third at Pontefract last time. He has run well in the past when there has been cut in the ground and can go well at a nice price. Circuit Dancer has been knocking at the door of late, running well in a better class contest at Goodwood, and a string of earlier efforts have suggested a win is just around the corner. Running off the same mark as at Goodwood, Circuit Dancer can take advantage of an excellent draw and gain an overdue success.
