Ryedane looks almost guaranteed to give his running but our preference is for FROGNAL; Bahamian Ballet and Kyzer Chief just about head the remainder. Ruth Carr has had a few winners over the past fornight or so and could well have another here, as her charge has landed a fine draw and ran well at Doncaster recently. With James Sullivan back on board he can defy a 2lb rise to take this slightly less competitive race, getting off the mark on turf in the process. Ryedane is a course and distance winner having a fine year and he can't be ruled out, but for one of his racing style the draw could've been kinder. That said he ran well from this box last time (albeit in a smaller field) and remains on the same mark, so with David Allan back in the plate a big run is likely. Bahamian Ballet has been penalised to the tune of 6lbs following a Nottingham success but as that was his first win for three years he's still well treated on old form, whilst Kyzer Chief arrives on the back of a short-head defeat and he's been placed on both visits to Beverley, which negates concerns surrounding the 3lb rise. Riflessione is back over the right trip in the right grade whilst Rowayton was placed off a 7lb higher mark in a much better race back in the spring but his recent efforts have lacked something, so ready preference is for Frognal.
