Puckle beat Billy Roberts and Bit Of A Quirke at Pontefract in June and is only 2lb higher. He is a previous course and distance winner but recent form leaves a lot to be desired. Delph Crescent could have been better drawn but is eased in grade and Possible Ambition has run his best races here, though still seeks a first victory. Star Shakeera is also a maiden but Crestwood won on soft going at Lingfield in June and has travelled up from Newmarket along with YOUR LOVE IS KING (NAP). Michael Bell’s gelding beat a big field at Nottingham last month and can be excused a subsequent run at Wolverhampton where he was squeezed out at the start.
