Catchanova escapes a penalty after winning an apprentices' race over a mile at Kempton last week, but he's upped in class here along with recent C&D second Powerful Pierre. The latter had earlier finished behind MY GACHO, who failed to figure in better company last time but made all over C&D in this grade before that and should be able to grab the inside rail once again from today's draw. He's preferred to Not My Choice, who scored at Catterick last time and is 6lb higher. Elijah Pepper is consistent but still looks a shade high in the weights.
