Soft ground brought a better effort from G For Gabrial in a handicap at Nottingham though a wide draw doesn’t help his cause and the same comment applies to Northern Hope. The latter ran well in a maiden at Musselburgh last time and LORD OF THE ALPS (NAP) finished third in a maiden over track and trip recently when clear of the rest. The runner-up has won subsequently so the form looks solid and Mark Johnston’s colt gets the nod. Doncaster Rosa is another handicapping for the first time and is preferred to Blausee and Hashtagmetoo.
