Verdict

BEAT THE RUSH can defy the likely odds to see off Sir Pitt and Desert Recluse. Julie Camacho's charge won well at Pontefract on his last start of the campaign and while the pedigree suggests that this step up in trip is surprising, the way in which he ran on at the West Yorkshire track suggests anything other. Sir Pitt made hard work of winning a Southwell maiden. He won in spite of the surface but the handicapper really couldn't hammer him as a consequence. Desert Recluse has a flawless record over the early part of the year. All credit to Pat Eddery for getting him so well handicapped but this race will see him up against a completely different grade of opposition. Corsica won over a mile though had taken on decent opposition as a juvenile at Sandown. Domination was well backed at Newbury in a back end maiden and then seemed over the top next time around at Southwell. Beat The Rush represents unfashionable connections and could be available at a price.
