The race-fit Sweet Potato is worth chancing in this company now that she has gained experience of the trip on turf. Top weight Queen's Dancer and the lightly raced Subtle Affair are others to consider, while Beauchamp Twist also enters calculations and is another shortlisted as a threat. The last named needed the run when she made her reappearance at Warwick last month but should strip a lot fitter today. She is stoutly bred and her shrewd connections will undoubtedly find a suitable race for her as the season goes on. Subtle Affair enjoyed a very light juvenile campaign and is less exposed than many. She shaped as if she is getting the hang of things when just missing out on the frame at Lingfield and holds each-way claims if she transfers that form to this surface. Queen's Dancer is a well-related filly that represents a yard that always has to be respected when they have a tilt at the ring. Watch the betting where she is concerned - especially if the heavens open; she has shown fair aptitude when there is plenty of cut in the ground. It will also be noteworthy to see how Desert Classic fares this afternoon, as her yard have done well with other members of her family in the past. She is another for the future. However, preference goes to Sweet Potato on this occasion, as she at least knows what it takes to win a race and, with a handful of recent outings under her belt, she is fancied to have the vital edge when it really matters.
