With the stable coming right back into form Ed McMahon's Smirfy's Night edges the decision here, Sir Sandrovitch and Abelard are two that could give him a fight. The selection , like the stable, has been a bit in the doldrums this season but put in a terrific effort last time when chasing home Count Cougar at Wolverhampton. His turf form of last season also bears close inspection and he must go close off his current mark. Sir Sandrovitch has been running much better than his form figures suggest and this does represent a drop in class, he should be competing for some place money at least. Stable companion Abelard has put in some good efforts recently over the six furlong trip but is possibly better over the minimum. His jockey claims a valuable three pounds here and it could enable the four-year-old to reach the frame. Lingfield winner Kalista's Pride is still on a handy mark and looks the pick of the others, but in a wide open affair preference is for Smirfy's Night.
