Verdict

The Tim Easterby-trained Kentucky Blue benefited greatly from his debut run to score in gritty style at Thirsk last month. He hinted that there is plenty more to come from him on that occasion and the extra half furlong holds fewer fears the fact that he has to give weight away all-round. Swashbuckler also hails from an in-form yard and provides some solid form going into the race. However, it remains to be seen how well he can translate his efforts back on turf. Fairly High should also give a good account of himself but has questions to answer with regard to the trip.
