ESPIRITU looks the best bet in the finale, and is preferred to Crime Writer and Ettrick Mill. Jeremy Noseda's colt is among the most experienced in the field, with four runs to date, and the first time visors may concentrate the mind to eke out that first win. Connections will be looking for a return on the 490,000 Guineas they paid for him last year, he's got the highest rating of those to have a mark, but the draw isn't the best. That's the only negative about the yard's only runner on the card. Mark Johnston's runners are flying, and Crime Writer looks to be the first choice ahead of the marginally more experienced Ettrick Mill. The slight step up in trip looks a positive for the former, and he's better drawn. The market can always guide us in this sort of race; Helieorbea is the only newcomer, but doesn't have any fancy entries. We wouldn't take too short a price, but we think the lucky last can go the way of Espiritu.
