Probably best to side with proven form in a race like this so we'll go with the obvious choice of Compton Charlie with David's Cavalier the danger. The selection beat a decent, and in-form, sort in Street Life at Folkestone last time and that victory reads well in the context of this race. He may have enjoyed the run of the race but this represents a decent opportunity for him to follow up. David's Cavalier was a long way behind Street Life at Nottingham on his penultimate start but he improved on that form when going close at Southwell last time and must be given a chance on the back of that performance. Shenandoah Girl, Centenary, Fire In Cairo and Royal Rainbow are others that we're interested in in a trappy looking contest but we'll take Compton Charlie to maintain his unbeaten start to 2008.
